Battersea Park Events

News at Eden Harper | 10/03/2014

Situated on the south side of the Thames, Battersea Park truly caters for everyone. With a lake for boating; ponds; art at the Pump House Gallery; there’s also sport at the Millennium Arena, tennis courts and a place to hire bicycles. You can also visit the thriving wildlife scene, with birds, animals and plants.
Battersea Park’s a great place for events – such as the affordable art fair, taking place on 13-16 March. Here are a few more that are coming up in the next few months:

Later this month: Brides the Show

On the 22nd and 23rd of March, make sure you get yourself along to Brides the Show, held at Battersea Evolution. It’s a chance to be involved in a fully interactive show where you can play with make-up looks, check out beautiful bridal gowns and even create your own wedding day details in the Imagination Room. You can also sample the finest wines, champagnes and food trends with tastings throughout the day. Bride Magazine’s Fashion Director will style a series of catwalk shows and you can chat to the magazine’s honeymoon; reception; shopping and style experts; covering all details of your wedding.

April: The Decorative Antiques and Textiles Fair

A thrice-yearly specialist event for unusual English and European antiques, this event is taking place in Battersea Park on the 29th April-4th May 2014. There will be 140 exhibitors offering a wide range of fine quality and affordable pieces for interiors. At the fair, there will be 20th century designs and works of arts from all periods to the present day. The fair’s fun, trendy and known as an excellent source for those looking to pick up painted furniture. You can also shop for lighting, accessories and named-design furniture; as well as excellent mirrors. The fair’s been around for more than 25 years and is a great place to find unique furnishings and accessories for decorating schemes.

August: Foodies Festival

If you’re a foodie and looking to take part in a celebration of fine food and drink in the wonderful outdoor setting that is Battersea Park, make sure you join for the Foodies Festival on the weekend of Friday 15th, Saturday 16th & Sunday 17th August this year. Top chefs will be cooking in the Chef’s Theatre, with wine; beer; cocktails; as well as spirits in the Drink’s Theatre and a daily Cocktail Competition. You can also join top pastry chefs in the brand new Chocolate; Cake; Bake and Preserves Theatre and kids can learn to cook too in the Children’s Cookery Theatre. As well as this, take time out to enjoy afternoon tea in the Vintage Tea Tent and check out the BBQ arena as well as the Real Ale and Cider Farm.

Children’s Zoo!

If you have children, it is imperative you have a peek at the Children’s Zoo at Battersea Park. You could take the family along to feeding times at the weekend and during the school holidays. These times are: Otters and Meerkats at 11am and 2.30 pm as well as Monkey Mayham at 11.30am and 3pm. You could also help to feed the farm animals at 12pm and 3.30pm. Your children can also hang out in the play area where they can climb; balance; swing; build; and generally enjoy themselves. Perhaps have a drink in the Lemon Tree Cafe while you’re waiting (and listen out for a unique greeting from the African Grey Parrots!!!!)

We hope you enjoy any one of these events if you decide to get yourself and your family along to them. Battersea’s such a fantastic area to live in with much to do – why not contact our friendly team of Battersea estate agents if you’re looking to buy property in this lovely part of town.
