Five best restaurants in Battersea

Posted on by within London, Battersea

It’s 2014 and time to treat yourself in the cold dreary month of January. What better place than a lovely restaurant in Battersea? From Italian to French to Chinese restaurants in Battersea, there’s a wealth of options to choose from.

We picked you out some of the best:

Bunga Bunga

We simply HAD to start with Bunga Bunga - that wonderfully playful venue that’s from the duo behind Sloaney bars Maggie’s (a shrine to Margaret Thatcher), Kitts and St Bart’s. A  homage to rogue Italian Premier Silvio Berlusconi;  this bar is something to behold - from cheeky political caricatures to magnificent Roman busts on the walls, there’s a lot of colourful memorabilia around! With live music, theme nights and range of amazing cocktails (such as the £7 Berlusconi Bellini - a combination of peach puree and Prosecco), there are also a range of delicious treats to pick from, such as very Italian bruschetta and slices of pizza. Hidden by Battersea Bridge, this place can get pretty lively at the weekends, so isn’t for those looking for a quiet night out.

Gazette Brassiere

An authentic brassiere in the style of typical village cafes, Gazette Brassiere has something to fit every occasion. From an early breakfast to the perfect place to chill out with a glass of wine with your partner, it’s a very romantic atmosphere. The all-day menu includes cheese-laden soft omelettes and the Balhamoise - a crêpe filled with spinach, tomato and salty goat’s cheese. Or why not try the croque monsieur - or, if you like your meat the ribeye steak!

Battersea Barge

On Nine Elms Lane, hidden on the south side of the Thames between Vauxhall and Battersea, the Battersea Barge has a relaxed and vibrant atmosphere; with musicals, comedy and cabaret. Slightly off the beaten track; this place is well worth the effort. With spectacular views, this legendary floating venue is frequented by a relaxed crowd, with velvet sofas and top-notch entertainment. You soon get used to the rocking of the boat and with spectacular views; camp velvet sofas and a buzzing crowd; this is a fantastic venue which makes for a very memorable night out.

Entree Restaurant and Bar

A favourite among locals, Entrée Restaurant & Bentley Bar serves a modern European menu in a relaxed environment. Using seasonal British ingredients, with French-influenced dishes, there’s a lovely bar - the Bentley - that occupies the lower floor of the venue and boasts an intimate atmosphere, the perfect location for drinks and private parties.

Donna Margherita

A traditional pizzeria that uses old Italian cooking techniques; Donna Margherita serves authentic flavours with ingredients from Southern Italy. The menu’s based on Neapolitan tradition and includes pizza (somewhat unsurprisingly); a dish of mussels; beef carpaccio; Italian greens in olive oil and chilli

We hope that you find the restaurant in Battersea that you’re looking for. Thanks to Eden Harper, a Brixton and Battersea estate agents for this guest post.
