Halloween Fancy Dress to Impress

Posted on by within London, Brixton

happy halloweenHave you got your hands on a ticket for one of the many hot Halloween parties that are taking place in Brixton at the end of the month? Wherever you're celebrating the annual fest of trick or treating, carving out pumpkins and  telling scary stories you'll want to look your best. Or is that worst?

We've put our heads together and come up with five fancy dress  ideas to get you in the party spirit.

Adams Family

Ah, that very dysfunctional, macabre, satirical portrayal of the ideal American family which caught the attention of millions of people around the world in the 1960s and has gone on doing so since. Addams Family costumes are very versatile, you could go as an individual or get the whole family involved. Why not dress up as Morticia? Her long black hair and gothic-like appearance are pretty easy to emulate. Or Gomez. Just whack on a wig add a bow-tie and don a pin-striped suit.

Alice In Wonderland

Since director Tim Burton remade the classic film, Alice in Wonderland costumes have soared even higher on the wish list for those looking for original and different Halloween outfits. Why not be the star of the show and sweep into a party as the Red Queen? Or give yourself an excuse for a touch of madness and dress up  as the Mad Hatter? Could be fun...

Spiderman

This is quite easy to make at home. Grab long underwear or tights along with a red and blue fitted top. Then take a permanent marker and paint on the Spiderman logo. If you've time try creating a freezer paper stencil of the logo. Then you can have fun with face paints and masks.

Frozen

If you're planning on going to a party with your kids, why not dress the family up as Anna, Elsa or Olaf from last year's Disney animation Frozen?

If all else fails...

...Just put on a witches' hat and a black cape, or go in your normal dress and put a massive pumpkin on your head. Failing that, you could stay in and scare yourself watching horror films about ghouls and ghosts...

Enjoy Halloween whatever you decide to do!
