Battersea Park Summer Concerts are back!

On the 22nd, 23rd and 24th August Battersea Park and Wandsworth Council are again hosting their popular live music events -

Saturday 22nd is the ‘Symphonic Disco’ with the 60 piece Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra and guest singers performing their unique versions of hits by Abba, Dua Lipa, Chic, Bee Gees, Sister Sledge and many more!

Ronnie Scott’s resident singer Natalie Williams will open the event with a set of soul classics to get you in the mood for dancing before the orchestra transports you back to the seventies and beyond for the main events.

The Philharmonic Concert Orchestra return on the Sunday evening for ‘A Night at the Movies’! Themes from the soundtracks to ‘Star Wars’, ‘James Bond’, ‘Love Actually’, ‘Inception’, ‘Wicked’ and many more will be brought bought to Battersea Park in style.  To complete the dramatic evening a fireworks finale will dazzle all ages and support from swing king Matt Ford and his band will open the night of Hollywood escapism.

Finally a very special Bank Holiday Monday event as Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra take centre stage on Monday 25 August.  Known for his popular tv and radio programmes and exceptional collaborations across musical genres, he will be accompanied by longstanding collaborators Ruby Turner, Louise Marshall and Sumudu Jayatilaka on vocals, with a special guest appearance from Chris Difford, the founding member of British rock group Squeeze

The full afternoon programme will also feature a welcome return from celebrated saxophonist YolanDa Brown and ‘Ella Fitzgerald Reimagined’, a specially curated salute to the ‘First Lady of Song’, featuring UK jazz royalty Elaine Delmar, Ian Shaw and Jacqui Dankworth with their versions of Ella’s most iconic numbers.
