Many pubs and restaurants are once again opening their doors on Christmas Day to rustle up a traditional feast for hungry punters.
If you're planning to eat out in Brixton on December 25th, but are undecided as to where to go, we've got some suggestions to help you out.
We couldn't not recommend The Trinity Arms, one of Brixton's best-loved boozers, where you can expect a consistently good service and a selection of real ales. The atmosphere is intimate, and the staff welcoming and obliging. If you like the sound of playing board games and sipping Bloody Marys while tucking into a hearty roast meal on Christmas Day, this pub may be the venue for you. A read of their Christmas menus is enough to get your mouth-watering. This will be the perfect venue if you want generous portions, affordable dining, and friendly staff in a warm dining room environment.
A more traditional menu will be served at the White Horse Brixton on Christmas Day. There will be turkey with all the trimmings, Christmas Pudding with brandy butter, cheese, and a selection of wines to choose from. This is a very 'local' pub. It's loved by locals and frequented by locals. There are sofas, the atmosphere is relaxed, jovial and laid back. You can always guarantee a good time at the White Horse. This will be the perfect venue for anyone who wants to experience a fun, laid back and festive meal out on Christmas Day.
The Clink Restaurant at HMP Brixton offers a unique dining experience. The restaurant is staffed by inmates who are working towards gaining a qualification – the City & Guilds NVQs in Food Preparation, Food Service and Customer Service – which will allow them to gain employment when released from prison. With a superb Christmas menu and private dining rooms available for hire, a Christmas meal at The Clink Restaurant is ideal for those looking for a more formal affair and fine dining. Service will not be included in the Christmas cost of the meal, but any donations will go towards supporting the work of The Clink Charity.
Tip: do remember that you will need to book as early as possible in advance to avoid disappointment at your chosen venue.
