Kingsway Square
Kingsway Square, Battersea

Kingsway Square is a striking residential development in Battersea, set within walking distance of Battersea Park and Chelsea Bridge. The scheme is a sympathetic conversion of a Grade II listed Victorian school into a high-specification collection of homes, blending period character with contemporary living. It is a world away from many of the boxy, ‘rabbit-warren’ new developments springing up across the capital — here, generous proportions, high ceilings and original detailing give every home a real sense of space and character.

The Development

Kingsway Square comprises approximately 200 homes of all shapes and sizes, from compact 350 sq ft studio apartments right up to vast 1,500 sq ft three-bedroom duplexes with private terraces. The scheme is split into six distinct sections, most of which incorporate the original Victorian architecture of the old school, preserving high ceilings and period detailing throughout while adding a thoughtful new-build element to the mix.

Mountford Mansions

The three-storey range running along the south side of Battersea Park Road. This is home to the grand original entrance, with a welcoming reception area, tessellated tiled flooring and a concierge desk — setting the tone for the whole development.

Searles House

Set on the east flank of Mountford Mansions, forming one of the two wings that frame the heart of the development.

Balfour House

On the west flank, next to the old library — now an art gallery — giving this part of the scheme a distinctly cultural, characterful setting.

The College Building

Tucked away in a peaceful spot, with some apartments enjoying views towards Battersea Park.

The Great Hall

The reincarnation of the old Assembly Hall, and one of the most dramatic parts of the development. It features arched windows and apartments with mezzanine levels and double-height ceilings — homes with a genuine sense of occasion.

Draper’s Court

The new-build section of the scheme, adding 89 brand-new apartments, many with private balconies overlooking Lurline Gardens. Shared-ownership flats are available on the lower floors, broadening the range of homes on offer.

A Development in Demand

Kingsway Square has been sought-after from the very beginning. When it first launched in 2007–2008, buyers formed an overnight queue to reserve homes off-plan — and to this day we keep a standing list of interested parties keen to find a home there. It has proved a real hit with our buyers and tenants alike, and Eden Harper regularly handles sales, lettings and management within the development.
