Kingsway Square

The Kingsway Square Development is a conversion of a Grade II Listed Victorian school. This rather grand, disused building is being turned into a high specification development with courtyards, concierge, secure underground parking, a bike store and roof terrace, all located within moments of the wide open spaces of Battersea Park, a short walk from Chelsea Bridge.

Kingsway square Development

It is a world away from many of the boxy, ‘rabbit warren’ new developments where space is at a premium and small hallways are simply an access to the rest of the flat. There are approximately 200 units of all shapes and sizes from 350 sq ft. studio apartments to vast 1500 sq ft. three bedroom duplexes with private terraces.

Kingsway Square is split into six sections, mainly incorporating the original buildings with their high ceilings and period details. The three storey Mountford Mansions runs across the southside along Battersea Park Road and includes the grand original entrance with a reception area, tessellated tiled flooring and concierge desk. Flanking Mountford is Searles House to the east and the old library (currently an art gallery), and Balfour House to the west. The College Building is in a peaceful spot with some views towards the park. One of the most attractive sections is The Great Hall, the reincarnation of the old Assembly Hall with its arched windows and apartments with mezzanine levels and double height ceilings.

A new-build section, Draper’s Court, (highlighted in orange) was also created at the time of the conversion, featuring 89 brand new apartments, many with private balconies overlooking Lurline Gardens and including shared ownership flats on the lower floors. Battersea Park Station is just a few minutes walk and is just one stop (five minutes) from London Victoria. Queenstown Road station is also very close by and just nine minutes from Waterloo. There are numerous bus routes to Sloane Square, Oxford Street, Westminster and Hyde Park.

Since the overnight queue of buyers ready to buy off-plan with its first launch in 2007-2008, Kingsway Square has proved a hit with our buyers and tenants and we always have a list of interested parties keen to find a home there.
